Nelson was born in Manila, Philippines and moved to Los Angeles when he was about 10 years old. He went to Fairfax High School in Los Angeles (Go Lions!) and received his Bachelor’s from Long Beach State and his Physical Therapy Degree from Chapman University in Orange, CA. He worked as a therapist in two outpatient clinics in Orange County for almost 6 years where he treated triathletes, horse-riders, gymnasts, baseball players, swimmers, hikers, lawyers, teamsters, etc, which made him well-rounded for the outpatient setting. His treatment philosophy is that the body is a marvel of biomechanics and that anything that limits mobility (strength, flexibility and the mind+body connection) needs to be addressed with meticulous care, passion, and creativity so that it can go back to moving again without hindrance of any type. This includes hands-on manual therapy that addresses one or more of the factors mentioned above and therapeutic exercises that are helpful (and sometimes fun) to get people moving their bodies how it’s meant to move. Nelson discovered his passion for Physical Therapy when he was a volunteer at the Los Angeles County+USC hospital during the summer of his Sophomore year. There he learned what PT was all about and with his compassion for others, he fell in love with the profession. During his free time, Nelson enjoys riding his road bike, reading and watching Star Wars, learning about different topics (investment, military history, US history, etc.), listening to music and enjoying movies of different types.
