Joint Health

Joints, joints, joints! No, I’m not talking about the kind you smoke. I’m talking about the kind that you rely on every single day in order to move. Fun fact: there are 360 joints in the human body. Yep, I just saved you a 5 second search on google. You’re welcome. 360! The number of joints in your body happens to match the exact degree of a full turn. I know. It felt satisfying to make that connection for me too.

When I think of a joint, the major ones like knees, hips, elbows, ankles, and wrists pop into my mind almost instantaneously. Then, after that, the kid’s tune “head, and shoulder, knees and toes follow fairly quickly thereafter. And now, I have successfully buried that into my musical mind for the rest of the day. Joy.

360…let’s get back to that. Some examples of joint type include ball and socket, hinge, pivot, gliding, planar along with a few more that I have a hard time pronouncing. The point is that there is a lot going on and therefore a lot that could go wrong. Now, perhaps you are thinking, “Well, I’m not a professional athlete” or “It’s okay, I work out” or “I don’t think my knees are bad enough to really complain about it…” or perhaps you are thinking, “Yeah, my joints hurt. I need some help.”

The reality is that it is always a great idea to have the correct information and solutions so that you can prevent, perfect, or fix issues that may occur, are occurring, or have occurred in your body.

We have the pleasure of hosting Dr. Gabe Carpio, a nonsurgical orthopedic specialist

chronic asthma.
